General Rules
No griefing
Breaking or placing blocks within another player's claim (or claim borders) is strictly prohibited. This is true even in seemingly abandoned claims - if it's not yours, don't touch it.
Do not unreasonably grief the wild. This includes using TNT outside of a claim.
Do not set homes in other people's bases/homes unless they have specifically told you that you can for that specific claim.
No looting
It doesn't matter if a player is inactive or has trusted you in their claim. If it's not yours, don't touch it. That said, you should still protect your stuff. We can only roll things back so far, so if your stuff is unprotected and you've been offline a while and someone breaks the looting rules, you may have no recourse. Looting is only allowed in pre-generated structures.
Only use approved mods
Use of mods that have not been approved will result in a ban.

No advertising/spam
Sending repetitive messages is not tolerated in this server or in DMs.
Harmful content (such as viruses, pornographic or violent content) has no place in this server, or in the DMs of our users.
Do not advertise other servers or products on the server or Discord.
Common sense/maturity
This is just a game. Be respectful, treat everyone with respect (not just the staff team), have fun, don't participate in drama, don't harass people, etc.
Chat rules
We are not in the habit of policing chat, but some words and sentiments have no place in conversation other than to discriminate or inflame. Be respectful. Those intent on creating a toxic environment will be banned.
We want Sleepless MC to be a welcome and inclusive community. As such, we have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind. Inappropriate language - including excessive swearing, slurs, or otherwise baiting negative reactions - as well as outside altercations, have no place in this server and are not allowed.
This server is meant to be drama-free. Anyone participating in word-sniping, bickering, pettiness, etc. will be kicked on the spot. Insistence on participation in drama will result in a ban.
Do not spam chat or other players. This includes excessive caps or over-the-top color combinations.
Since a majority of our staff team only speaks English, we ask that all messages be written in English.
Threats towards any player or staff member on the server will not be tolerated. This goes for any threats to slow, crash, or attack the server. Threats of DDoSing the server will result in a permanent ban. Threatening to harm another player or staff member will result in a permanent ban. This includes the releasing of personal information.
Offensive Content
Your IGN, nick, and skin cannot be offensive. Nicknames must be related to your in-game name.
You may not discuss content related to drugs, politics, sexual references, or other mature topics. Mentions of death or suicide are strictly forbidden.
Any reference to hateful or discriminatory movements, ideas, symbols, stereotypes, groups, or figures is not tolerated whatsoever. The use of any hateful or discriminatory phrases and slurs is also strictly prohibited. The use of the term "gay" in a negative context is deemed homophobia on our server
Loopholes/Bugs
Do not abuse permissions, exploit glitches, or bypass restrictions. If you find a glitch or exploit, read through Known Issues and complete a bug report on Discord immediately.
Purposely going out of your way to find and attempt to abuse loopholes is not allowed. If you have a question about the rules, ask a staff member.
Shop pricing errors that allow you to make large amounts of money beyond what you can make with other methods should be reported to staff immediately and not abused. If you find a bug or loophole that affects the economy (makes you a lot of money, gives you free items, etc), it should not be abused.
Hacking or the use of illegitimate/hacked clients of any form is not allowed. This includes the use of fancy chat. Using any method to make impossible movements, such as walking/jumping on blocks you try to place in a location you do not have access to build, is not allowed.
PvP Rules
PvP is enabled by default, but you MUST obtain consent before engaging in PvP. You have the ability to enable/disable PvP in your claims. If a player does not consent, you are responsible for returning the items in their inventory. Any repeated killing of players without consent will be considered harassment and you will be banned.
This should go without saying, but don't intentionally tp-kill or trap anyone.
Grinders/Farms/Redstone
All things in moderation
Don't cause lag with excessive TNT, entities (farm harvests, ore mining), etc. Players who create builds with the intent to lag or crash the server will be banned. No over-the-top farms are allowed. If your build causes lag (even unintentionally), it will need to be removed.
Don't run high-frequency clocks. All redstone clocks must have an "off switch"
This also takes up server resources and causes lag for everyone online. If you need a clock, make sure it's running at a reasonably slow tick rate. Never leave them running if you're AFK or not in the area.
"Zero-Tick" farms are not allowed
In addition to being an unnecessary source of frame lag (high frequency, crazy pistons), we also consider these to be a game exploit (items are generated far faster than they would be under normal conditions), putting you in danger of a ban.
Please be moderate with your hopper use
Hoppers can cause more lag than redstone clocks. We have a custom hopper plugin that will allow you to access additional features as you rank up. Use no more than 40 hoppers per build. Using more than this can cause lag for other players. Instead, you can rank up and upgrade your hoppers with features such as suction, item teleportation, filtering, etc.
Hopper minecart collection systems are a pretty terrible idea, especially when those carts are constantly moving
Please avoid these whenever possible. They can cause a lot of lag. Remember that hopper minecarts count as hoppers.
Keep farms and mob grinders to reasonable levels
Large numbers of mobs/entities can cause lag for everyone on the server. We have set a maximum of 50 mobs per chunk. Once you reach this maximum, spawners will stop working until the number goes below 50. Moving mobs out of the chunk where spawners are located in an attempt to bypass this restriction would be considered an exploit and could result in staff intervention. You can use a maximum of 40 spawners per grinder. Farms should be no larger than 4x4 chunks, but are not required to line up with chunk borders as long as they fit inside of a 64x64 block area.
Farms using water mechanics must be kept small and MUST NOT receive automatic updates
If you're turning water on and off, you should be doing it manually.
Farms involving entity cramming or several entities in a small space are not allowed.
This rule affects more than you would likely realize. Chicken, cow, and enderman farms are some of the worst offenders.
Farms should not be within 200 blocks of each other.
If you can activate multiple farms at the same time, it is not allowed. You can have up to one grinder inside of a farm.
Scamming
Scamming players of IRL money or accounts is not allowed. Scamming in any form is not allowed. Scamming in-game, such as selling a deceiving item on the Auction House, is not allowed.
Building & Mining
Mining has been limited to the resource world only
This will assist us in making sure we don't need to reset the server any time soon. Use /resource tp to reach the resource world. You can mine in your claim, but any time you're outside of your claim, you should use the resource world to mine.
Get permission before building in a town or near other claims
Anyone can claim an area with a claim shovel. Unless you have EXPLICIT permission, keep builds at least 250 blocks away.
Claim your builds
We can't guaranty your build will not be griefed unless you claim it. We can only roll things back so far.
Builds in the Nether/End will be removed
The end and nether will reset at least monthly without warning. You can build bridges or whatever, but don't build homes. If you set homes in the Nether/End, there's a chance that they will become unsafe after a reset.
If you are inactive for more than 60 days your claim may be removed
If it has been more than 90 days, your claim, build, and files may be removed by auto-cleanup. You may need to start from scratch.
Approved Mods
Using any mod that is not on this list runs the risk of a ban, even if it doesn't give you an advantage. If you think a specific mod should be added to this list, you can add a suggestion on discord.
You may also use shaders and (non x-ray) texture packs. Some of these mods may not be compatible with each other or the current game version. Using any mod, including approved mods, in order to gain a significant advantage over other players is not allowed. Example: Xaero's Minimap is allowed as long as you don't use the radar or cave mode.

Staff have the final say. If you have an issue with a staff member, you can contact a higher ranking staff member.
AFK fishing is not allowed. AFK pools are not allowed. Auto-reconnect tools are not allowed.
Do not use alt accounts for any purpose. Boosting is not tolerated.
This list does not constitute the full set of rules, and our Moderators may take action on misbehavior and violations that are not explicitly listed above. At all times, use common sense and good judgment for any action you're about to take.
